What if I Don’t Qualify to be on a Mediation State Roster?

Answer

Even when mediators don’t meet their individual state’s educational or vocational requirements, the parties can choose whoever they wish to be their mediator. Not being listed on an approved list of mediators does not limit mediators from offering professional mediation services. New mediators need to take adequate steps to developing and promoting professional mediation services.
